Hello there! I'm thrilled to introduce myself as a passionate provisionally licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor with a deep commitment to serving the unique needs of rural Montana communities. As a graduate of Montana State University's dual licensure pathway, I have gained invaluable skills in using Existential Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Mindfulness to help individual clients and couples unlock their inner strengths, values, and purpose. I truly believe that fostering positive self-concepts and feelings of self-worth is crucial in the journey to overcoming addiction and trauma. As your counselor, I strive to be a trusted support system, guiding you through the ups and downs of self-discovery with a dash of humor and lightheartedness. After all, laughter can be the best medicine!
I was raised on a cattle ranch in rural South Dakota near the Rosebud Reservation, where I learned the importance of hard work, community, and family. In 2005, I moved to Montana to attend MSU and immediately fell in love with this breathtaking state - from the rolling prairies to the majestic mountains, Montana has it all. Since then, Montana has been my home, and I feel blessed to be able to raise my four wonderful children with the same rural values and sense of adventure that I experienced in my childhood. When I'm not in the office, you can usually find me exploring Montana's great outdoors - hiking mountain trails, playing in the rivers, and skiing down the slopes. I love to embrace every opportunity to get outside, discover new places, and make the most of this incredible state. I hope to share some of that spirit with you as we work together to achieve your mental and emotional wellness goals.
I'm a pre-licensed clinical professional counselor (PCLC) working towards an addictions counselor status with a wealth of experience and training to help you achieve your mental and emotional wellness goals. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from 2008 and a Master of Science in Counseling from 2023. My professional journey has taken me to diverse settings, from hypnotherapy, to providing therapy to preschoolers and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to delivering addictions treatment to individuals incarcerated at the Gallatin Valley Detention Center. In addition, I have also provided individual counseling to teenagers and adults through the Health and Human Development Clinic and student health services at Montana State University. I'm excited to work with you and support your journey to greater wellness.
