Lindsay DeGroot
MEd, LCPC, LSC, CCTP, CBE
I believe that everyone wants to feel mentally capable of taking life head-on, to feel like they belong, and to feel an empowered sense of holistic wellbeing. In order to help people achieve these goals I work collaboratively with clients using a blend of trauma-informed and evidence-based modalities such as Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), and Interpersonal Neurobiology. I use highly intuitive psychotherapy techniques to help people to thrive socially, emotionally, and psychologically while encouraging clients to see more deeply into themselves and to maintain a more integrated and holistic sense of wellbeing.
Originally from a cattle ranch in Ennis, Montana, in early 2019 my husband and I returned to Montana with our two young children after almost a decade living and working in Oregon. We have a little urban farm with 18 animals (chickens, horses, rabbits, dogs, and a cat) and an awesome garden. I enjoy hiking, skiing, gardening, horseback riding, bluegrass music, and being outside soaking up the sunshine.
I am a licensed clinical professional counselor (LCPC) in Montana as well as a school counselor (license lapsed). I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I have a certification in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP), im
a Certified Babywearing Educator (CBE), and the co-founder and past member of the Board for Babywearing International of Portland where I worked to make babywearing accessible through free educational resources. I have experience working as a school counselor in the public school system, as a child and family therapist in a community mental health clinic, and providing services to a variety of clients in the private practice setting.
I have additional training in the neurobiology of Trauma, child and adolescent therapy, Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders, self-harming behaviors, Collaborative Problem Solving, Mindfulness techniques, Interpersonal Neurobiology, Attachment Theory, Hakomi Therapy, Art Therapy, Yoga Calm®, and the Love and Logic® family education program. I am a clinical supervisor, a faculty instructor at Montana State University, and I'm currently working towards a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
Lindsay sees clients in Ennis and via telehealth appointment.
