NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS- WAITLIST ONLY
As a student mental health counseling intern, I approach my work with a holistic perspective, aiming to collaborate with you as we explore the multifaceted aspects that may be hindering your progress and obstructing your path. Understanding human behavior through a holistic lens entails delving into the intricate connections between family dynamics, friendships, intimate relationships, work life, physical and emotional well-being, community involvement, and spirituality – all the elements that contribute to your thriving.
With two decades of experience in the healthcare field, my background adds a wealth of diverse skills to the counseling profession. From serving as a First Responder and providing counseling in community clinics and juvenile centers to working in rehabilitation with patients who have experienced traumatic brain injuries, facilitating mental health groups in psychiatric units, and serving as a nutritional, lifestyle, and fitness coach in both clinical and private practice, I bring a comprehensive perspective to our therapeutic journey.
Formally trained in individual, couples, family, and group counseling at Liberty University, where I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, I continuously expand my skill set to better serve my clients. I am currently undergoing training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, utilizing various play and expressive therapies tailored to each child's unique needs. As a Certified Trauma Professional, I am equipped to assist children and families in managing past and present trauma. Additionally, I find fulfillment in working with couples and am a certified facilitator of the Symbis assessment, offering counseling for pre-marital and married couples.
My counseling approach embraces integration, drawing upon trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral (CBT) strategies, strength-based interventions, expressive arts, narrative therapy, and existential or meaning-making psychology. As a military veteran, I feel honored to continue working with and supporting military members and their families, continuously deepening my training in trauma interventions tailored to their unique experiences and demands. Montana has always held a special place in my heart, as I have been visiting the state for over 20 years, and a couple of years ago, I finally made it my home. While I originate from Utah, I have resided in various locations across the country, spanning from coast to coast. During my leisure time, you can find me engaged in various fitness pursuits, immersing myself in nature's beauty, playing the guitar, exploring photography, and most recently, training pack goats for therapy backpacking excursions.
It would be my privilege to join you on this transformative journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing. Please don't hesitate to reach out, and together, let's create a nurturing space where positive change can flourish.
