Erica Parrish
MS, NCC, PCLC
I am currently a full time school counselor that works in a local high school and I am seeing clients in the evenings after school to work towards my LCPC licensure. I have been in the school counseling profession for nearly 10 years and I currently oversee the school counseling department and supervise two interns. Most of my experience is with teens and their families and I also really enjoy working with middle school-aged clients all the way into adulthood!
My formal counseling training included individual and group counseling skills, social/cultural perspectives, psychopharmacology, family systems, and group counseling. I am solution focused, person centered, and I work within a psychoanalytical framework. I also believe that when working with the client its important to use theoretical approaches that best fit their individual needs. The key thing that I focus on with clients is unconditional positive regard and empathy. I also believe in the immense power of transparency and authenticity.
I am originally from rural Eastern Oregon and have lived in a total of 5 different states working in various school settings with kids, teens, and families from diverse backgrounds. I have lived in the Gallatin Valley since 2014 with my husband, our daughters, and a black lab. I enjoy reading, thrift shopping, and spending time in the mountains. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Western Oregon University, and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in School Counseling from Oregon State University.
